Technical Assistance

Micro-Aggression Training for the Workplace

Micro-Aggression Training for the Workplace

Training and Technical Assistance / Workshops

Technical assistance (TA) is the process of providing targeted support to an organization with a development need or problem. It is commonly referred to as consulting. TA may be delivered in many different ways, such as one-on-one consultation, small group facilitation, or through a web-based clearinghouse.

TA is one of the most effective methods for building the capacity of an organization. By including TA in a capacity building project, you make the capacity building much more likely to create change. According to some, 10 percent of what gets learned in training is applied on the job, while 95 percent of what is coached gets applied on the job.2 Technical assistance is this coaching.

Understanding Race and Racism:

Micro-Aggression Training for the Workplace

Reentry/Recovery / Life Coaching

Training trainers to facilitate conversations about race is essential in creating a more inclusive and just society. Here's an outline for a train-the-trainer program that could be used to develop these skills:

  1. Introduction and Goals: Start by introducing the program and setting clear goals for what the trainers should expect to learn and accomplish. Explain the importance of facilitating conversations about race and how it can help create more equitable and inclusive environments.
  2. Understanding Race and Racism: Provide a comprehensive overview of race and racism, including historical context, different types of racism, and the impact of systemic racism on society. This will help trainers better understand the issues they will address.

By completing this train-the-trainer program, facilitators will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to create safe, inclusive spaces where meaningful racial conversations can occur.
